The OMHA advises that the "Canadian Hockey Parents Association" is NOT associated with Hockey Canada or any of its member organizations, nor is it sanctioned in any way by Hockey Canada.  Playing against any teams of the CHPA is strictly prohibited.

Coaching Ceftifications: beginning in the 2007-2008 season, individuals completing Certification Clinics will be issued cards indicating Name, Program Certification, Level of Certification, and Expiry Date, on-site the day of their Clinic.  There will be no Certification Number on the card.  The 9 or 10 digit number will be assigned once the participant has been assigned to a team roster.

Trainers with cards that expire this year (i.e. 08 1TR ######) will be permitted a grace period until October 31st, 2008 to renew.

The "Speak Out" course (PRS) has been integrated into the coaches clinic for 2008-2009 so ou no longer have to attend a separate PRS course when getting your coaching certification for the first time.

Effective the 2009-2010 season, expiring certifications (August 31st) will no longer be granted a grace period.

There has been a helmet recall from the CSA people.  Please see http://209.217.71.106/PR/recall-retrait-e.jsp?re_id=423

If you have never obtained your coaching card, and you are registered to take the 2-day course soon, please be aware that there is "homework" that needs to be done before you attend the course.  You can download it here.
