(1) Speak-Out (PRS) on September 8, from 6-10pm. All coaches at all levels
need this course.
(2) Development (D1) Refresher on September 13, from 6-10pm.

Early Bird registration
for the 2010-2011 season will be this weekend (March 27-28) from 8:30am-6:30pm
Saturday and Sunday from 2-6pm.
The AGM is April 13th.

The Permission to Skate forms, needed to register for AAA tryouts, are being
mailed out by the OMHA this coming week, so hopefully by about March 24th or so
they will be in NOTL for distribution. Check back here for confirmation of
their arrival.

With
our centre being involved with the Local League in all divisions this year the
last weekend for ice is Easter weekend. It has been decided to run Championship
weekend the week before. Championship
Weekend will be held March 26, 27, and 28th.
There
will be ice time the following week to any teams still playing in their
playoffs. This will make it easier for those families that are not able to
make Easter weekend hockey a part of their weekend.

for end of season awards will need to be back by FEBRUARY
20, 2010. Every year we have to chase teams for their award
recipients’ names or nominations. Please note that this is not an easy task
and it takes time to get these all done. Your cooperation in this matter
will be greatly appreciated.
Also
with the house league division all being in the Local League this year we have
decided not to do an in house playoff as time will not permit. This will be
reconsidered IF ALL TEAMS in one division are out of Local League
playoffs by March 1st. Any questions in regards to this should be

On ice volunteers (parents helping out etc.) must abide by OMHA Guidelines for
equipment. Over the age of 14 requires a CSA certified helmet (gloves,
skates etc.) and volunteers under the age of 14 must wear full player
equipment. Note: on ice volunteers must be at least two years older than
the age of the players being assisted.

All coaching/trainer certifications that start with 09, such as 09D1xxxxxxxxx,
expire as of August 31, 2009 and there is NO grace period this year. As a
result coaches and trainers must take the appropriate refresher course before
August 31, 2009 in order to be eligible for the upcoming season. the OMHA
web site www.omha.net is the best source for
clinic information. At this point the following clinics are available
locally:

We mailed out about 30 forms this week to players that have tried out in
previous years or who are already playing "AAA". If you have not
tried out previously and have not already contacted us, please do
so.

available yet as they have not arrived from the OMHA head office. Check
back here for updates. As of March 26th they're still not here....

Coaching and trainer certifications that expire in 2009 (eg. 09D1 123456789 or
09TR1 123456789) expire as of August 31, 2009. Traditionally there has
been a grace period to October 31st each year to recertify but as of 2009 no
grace period will occur. Please re-certify before your certification
expires. If you have any questions, contact Chris
Clark, our coaching convenor.
Starting in the 2009-2010 season, coaches holding Intermediate
Level certification will be required to renew their certification by
attending a Coach Refresher Clinic or meeting requirements of the Continuing
Education Program for coaches. Go to the OMHA website
for more information.
