History:
The
Centennial Arena was constructed in 1967 and expanded in both 1973 and 1991.
Ice
Surface:
The surface
is 180 ft. x 85 ft..
Change
Rooms:
Four normal
sized dressing rooms can accommodate 12-15 players comfortably with washroom
and shower area in each room.
Referees
Room:
A change
room for the referees is available.
Sound
System:
The arena
has been equipped with a sound system offering microphone and music
capabilities.
Spectator
Seating:
The
bleacher area can accommodate approximately 200 people with a small amount of
area for standing room. There is also a warm viewing area that provides
windows overlooking the ice surface. Spectator seating is heated with
gas fired radiant heaters.
Resurfacer:
The arena
has its own resurfacer room and resurfacer. Having a separate
vehicle at both surfaces allows greater flexibility for scheduling and
provides a back up if a mechanical problem occurs.
Storage:
There is
storage for the Jr. B. Lacrosse Thunderhawks.
Parking:
There are
107 parking spaces adjacent to the Centennial Arena. These spaces
coupled with the new spaces in the front of the NCU Arena offer a total of 252
spaces for the overall complex.
